Saying goodbye

And so we said goodbye the first of the fatties.

Three of them, two borrows and our only little gilt, went to their new homes. It was a quiet and simple move: lure each group into our large dog kennel with food bits (sweet piggies are suckers for bits) and simply close the door behind. Then move them into the truck for a ride to their next home.

Willow and I discussed the fact that some of her babies will be living somewhere else and some will stay with us.

She said she understood. And gave me a kiss.

Today’s count:   15  38 eggs, 2 gallons of milk

Weather: Glorious Montana sunshine with a hint of a breeze from the west- southwest. Low 30; high 68-ish

Fried chicken and mashed potatoes for supper!
