The air seemed really cool Tuesday evening when Rachael and I walked the cows the 500 yards back to the barn for the night. The outline of the moon was sharp and there was not a cloud in the sky. When I checked the weather channel I found that the low temperature for the night was supposed to be 36 but it was already 39 degrees at 10:15 pm. Hmmmm.
So I took an hour to cover the few tenders I had out on the porch…..
…. the flower beds……
….and the potted veggies that were waiting to be transported to the greenhouse.
When I woke up it was 28 degrees. In June.
I took this picture just an hour later it had already warmed up to 32.2.
A couple of the tomato plants had that nipped look. But I think they’re going to be alright.
Whew! Missed the bullet this time.
