Brassica…..of course

Thank goodness for cabbage and Brussels sprouts and broccoli and cauliflower and kale. These and potatoes are the staples of our garden both in season and for storage. Here are just a few pictures of this amazing family of mustards (yup, all these guys are in the mustard family~ weird, huh?).

 

We shall now observe a moment of silence as we partake in a visual cornicopia of goodness also known as brassicaceae (hahaha~ that’s Latin and plural for brassica. Ah, I learn something new everyday).

Most-amazing-eggplant-that-I-don’t-know-the-name-of-that’s-not-in-the-cabbage-family-but-they-look-so-good-that-I-coudn’t-resist-putting -a-pic-in-here.  (Ignore the chicken peckings. They discovered how much they love eggplant too.)
