Ok so I KNOW it’s February. And I KNOW it’s still winter. And I KNOW this won’t last forever. But oh, my aching heart.
I. Am. Sick. Of. White.
It’s foggy so even the air is white.
I am suffering from monochromaticitis*. And I’ve got it bad.
We are experiencing some melt as evidenced by this teeny, tiny little patch of grass peeking through the snow on the side our our driveway .
If you look really closely you can see a single brave blade of grass.
You might have to squint your eyes to see it. But it’s there. Or at least it was there. When I discovered this tiny bit of green earlier today I ran over and petted it and sang to the little blade and gave it encouragement to send it’s friends and family to the surface. Then a chicken promptly ran over and ate the blade. I had to go into the house before I cried.
I shouldn’t fuss about the chickens too much, however. Their colors are the only thing that is sustaining my eyes right now.
* Monchromaticitis~ a little known term that describes a condition that strikes folks in the far north during times of boring weather where the surrounding color is dominated by white. Don’t look for this term in the dictionary. I made it up 🙂
Today’s count: 10 eggs! Yay!
What’s for supper: Luke was treated to a birthday supper by a friend last night so tonight we are having his birthday supper request: Cheeseburgers with sauteed mushrooms and onions, boxed mac n’ cheese (bleck) and baked beans.

Hi Window! Thanks for commenting. I dropped by your blog and noticed we are both in the great state of MT! I also read your “Montana to do list” and would like to invite you to put visiting our family in Whitefish as your # 54. Maybe we could mark a few more places off your list. 🙂
