It rained all day. Rained. Then snowed. Then rained again. This kind of weather pattern really reminds me of spring. But I don’t think winter is over. February is the cruelest month. She warms up and blows warm southern breezes across our pastures and lures me into thinking that we might have an early spring. Then slams my hopes by dropping the temperatures into the single digits. Making me cry.
The rain has cleared off a bit more open areas for the chickens.
They were running this way and that. Pecking at bug shadows. Their antics really warm my heart.
Luke got a shot of Willow. Her belly is low but not so much that I’m worried about mixing her dates. She looks big but after seeing these pictures, I’m still thinking she is due mid- March. I am relieved. The further into March the greater the possibility she will deliver in mild weather. Especially since she seems determined to make a nest out in the open.
What a sweet pig. She was such a good mother last year.
I wish I could scratch her head and tickle her ears.
Oh look~ she applied a bit of eye make up for the picture! 🙂
Paradise~ just north of nowhere.
