It snowed about 2-3 more inches through the night. But we woke to almost clear skies this morning! It feels warmer when the sun shines though it’s only 18 degrees.
I am now able to hobble around in my highly stylish orthopedic boot~ sans crutches! Yippee! (Hold your horses, ladies! You too, can own one of these highly sought after “boots”, fashionably offered in “goes-with-everything” black. Just fall UP the stairs while moving the groceries from the car, break your ankle in two places, cry a little, go to the doctor and there you have it! A new type of foot gear that will make you the envy of all your friends.)
This morning I made my way out to the chicken coop and then to spy on the pigs. It took me 25 minutes to lurch about 25 yards. The chickens were all in a flutter with excitement to see me again. (Ha. I wish!) They rushed me (incorrectly) thinking that I was coming out to feed them. Once they realized I did not come baring gifts, they wandered away. Which was good. I’m still unsteady on my feet in the snow so having all those little girls flapping around me made me nervous. I’m not really sure why. It’s not like they could knock me over.
View on the way to the coop. I couldn’t quite manage taking pictures and walking so I chose walking.
All looks well in the coop and Vincent sends greetings.
Don’t you just love pig noses? Me too. Can’t get enough of them.
After the inspection, I dragged my left leg back to the house. It took another 25 minutes. That’s a whole hour of exercise!
Now I need a nap!
Paradise~ just north of nowhere.

What’s for supper: Leftovers! Yay! Pork roast in gravy over mashed potatoes and salad.
