Barely missed the bullet

It was 34 degrees on my front porch this morning! 34! That’s only 2 degrees from freezing! Ohmygoodness!!!!

I have hundreds of veggies and flower starts in the garden. And I have many, many starts on the porch waiting to be planted. If it had gotten any colder, I would have lost it all.

I’ve lost my whole garden to unforeseen freezes in years past.

Many times, an unsuspecting freeze has occurred in late August. That’s always heartbreaking. Yesterday, the lows were forecasted to be around 43.

They lied!

(Actually, I really think forecasting the weather is just an educated guess anyway.)

Gardening/ farming in Montana is very challenging.

Thank goodness for peonies.

Today’s count: 23 eggs so far. 2 gals of milk (so far)

What’s for supper: I have no idea yet. Something wonderful 🙂

Weather: (remember~ this is just an educated guess!)  A 40 percent chance of showers, mainly after noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 61. Southwest wind 8 to 13 mph. Tonight partly cloudy, with a low around 39. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light south in the evening.
