Right now on the farm…..

…. it’s a little bit early in the morning and I’m sitting at the computer sipping coffee.

I’m usually out the door to milk Maisy but today I’m lingering over my to do list for this day.

I really have 2 to do lists: one list is my real to do list that includes laundry, weeding the garden, dealing with the thistle in the pastures (bleck), cleaning house (did I mention that our vacuum cleaner has been broken and was just returned to us yesterday? Do I need to remind all that we have 2 dogs and a cat in the house at various times AND boys who bring part of the baseball field into the house with them in their clothes, though they try and leave their clothes outside, somehow the field dirt finds it’s way into their bedrooms. Whew. That was quite the sentence. I’m glad my English professor isn’t reading this blog. She would be appalled!), :] make a run to the feed store for animal food, make arrangements for some of my boys friends to “drop by” so they can help pick up about 60 hay bales and store them in the barn. Call my mother for a very long chat (this isn’t really a chore~ but it’s something important I want to do before I go to bed tonight).

My second to do list looks like this: bake brownies (because I haven’t baked brownies in a while and I think my children’s brownie titer is low. Gotta have me some brownies, man!), take a drive to our top secret spot to pick huckleberries, wander around the garden picking flowers and herbs to make bouquets for my friends. Skim every last drop of cream from Maisy milk to set up vanilla bean ice cream for an after supper treat to go with our brownies. Call my mother for a very long chat. Oh and swimming! We must go swimming!

Hmmmm. I am torn.

I think I need another cup of Joe to contemplate which list to tackle today.

Today’s count: I don’t know yet. I haven’t been out to the coop or barn for gathering and milking~ stay tuned.    42 eggs! The girls have out done them selves!  1 gallon of milk. Just one. Hmmmm

What’s for supper: I don’t know yet. Maybe brownies and ice cream. Or MAYBE huckleberry ice cream! BBQ chicken thighs on the grill that my beloved is fixing for us. He’s the grill master. Green salad and fruit salad.

Weather: Sunny, with a high near 86. Light and variable wind becoming south southeast 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon. Tonight isolated showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Mostly clear, with a low around 50. South wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
