To get right to the point, I fell off the stairs (again) a couple of days ago. I had my hands full and I was kicking off my garden shoes before I went into the house and lost my balance. I was at the top of the 5 steps that lead into house from the garage. These were the same steps I fell from last January. I felt myself listing to the left standing on one foot and all I could think of was “oh no! My ankle!” So I over compensated and jumped off the stairs and fell to the right injuring my shoulder, wrist and more importantly my right knee. This all happened on Wednesday. The swelling has gone down considerably so my wrist and shoulder are sore but better. I’m just left with a bad right knee. I’m on crutches again. And the boys are taking care of the farm. Again. I am very blessed that they are home and willing to take over once again as I recuperate. I have an MRI scheduled for early Tuesday morning and that will tell the tale (IE: surgery or no surgery).
Until then it’s taking pictures from the car and posting old pictures of the farm as we go forward on this blog. I can’t pretend that this isn’t a harsh blow. There is still so much to do before the snow comes in earnest. The gardens are only partially cleaned out, boxes of apples and plums to process, tulip and daffodil bulbs to plant. My children are wonderful and will pick up each and every task that needs completing. And when my husband comes home I will be the queen.
God is good and there is a plan. I’m just feeling sorry for myself right now.
More tomorrow.
PS ~ It’s snowing.
Update~ I just read a “note” from a “sister” and she reminded me that when things get hard, warriors are born. Just what I needed to hear.
Today’s count: 0 so far this morning~ sleepy girls
What’s for supper: IDK. Something wonderful that the boys whip up for us 🙂
Weather: Snow showers before noon, then rain showers likely. High near 43. Calm wind becoming northwest around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible. Tonight rain likely before midnight, then a chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 29. Light and variable wind. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Oh no! Sad to hear. Hopefully you’ll be up gardening again soon.

It’s supposed to clear off tomorrow so the boys and I are going to venture out to the garden. I have visions of me sitting in a chair and those sweet boys carrying out my every wish! I am so blessed!

How many trips to the bone doctor does your family have to make before they give you a discount?

I’m a HUGE tripper! I just have my mind on other things and before you know it, I’ve fallen again. But I’m better already! Nothing like a little TLC to heal the body! Thanks for your kind thoughts, Heaven.
