A little walk- about

Today the boys had multiple errands and classes to attend and I found myself at home alone for an extended time. They are pretty protective since I fell (again) and don’t let me do too much around the house without supervision. Sweet boys. (What do they think I’m going to do? Motocross? Deep sea fishing? Skijoring).

So it was pretty unusual to be home by myself. DSC00912It snowed~ again~ this morning. While it snowed, I was inside performing the most inspiring chores like folding clothes and sweeping the floor (which is really, um, interesting. I stand up from my ATV~ more on that later~ sweep a section. Sit down on my ATV. Scoot to the next section of floor. Sweep that. Scoot. Sweep. You get the idea. Then all the dirt goes into a corner of the kitchen until one of the boys get home to use the dustpan to finish the job. Can’t quite manage the broom and dustpan combo yet.)

But then it stopped snowing. And the sun came out. And it was (relatively) warm. It’s been ages since I’ve seen the chickens or the pigs up close. DSC00923 (2)So I wheeled/ crutched out to the garage and into the snow and over towards the chicken coop. DSC00920I couldn’t even make it all the way to the pig palace. The snow was too deep. DSC00914 (2) I could feel the sun on my face and the cool-ish breeze mussing my hair.DSC00926It was glorious.

Then I wheeled myself back to the house. I was only outside for about 45 minutes. DSC00928But it was enough of a walk-about that it made me feel happy. And nothing terrible happened!  Don’t tell the boys. I don’t want to worry them. Plus they might never leave me alone again.

“I didn’t see anything. Did you see anything?”

Mum’s the word, right girls?

What’s for supper: Pork stew.

  1. That’s a pretty fuzzy deer! What do they say about the correlation between a deer’s fall coat and how bad the winter is going to be? Tell those boys of yours to shovel the driveway while it’s still warm out.
