Rach and Luke walking back from the mailbox with the dogs before the big storm.

We had a huge storm that started Thursday afternoon gaining power until peaking last night. 28 mph northeastern winds and biting cold changed our landscape from a winter wonderland to a weird moonscape. DSC01358

The wind can do interesting things to snow. DSC01357

The power is awesome. And sometimes it’s kind of scary. I don’t think I’ve ever seen this much snow on our front porch.

This drift greeted me when I opened the garage door. It definitely makes for that “snowed in” feeling.

But we are warm and have everything we need. Food~ lots of food, comfort, and we are together. So we’re good.  DSC01343 (2)

Some of us are “gooder” than others.

Weather: A 50 percent chance of snow. Cloudy, with a high near 20. North wind 8 to 10 mph. Total daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible. Tonight a 30 percent chance of snow, mainly before 11pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 3. Wind chill values as low as -8. North wind 5 to 8 mph. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

What’s for supper: Tomato soup with grilled ham and cheese sandwiches
