Winter continues to surprise us with fairly mild temperatures and NO wind! Even the snow load has slowed. I’m not really sure what’s in store but I like what we are having now. More “nice” weather please!
The weekend before I took the pigs to their new digs, I was checking on them through the kitchen window (a habit you develop when you have animals within viewing distance of the house). Something caught my eye but I couldn’t exactly place what I was seeing. So I waited and watched.
And soon enough, this.
Deer were actually INSIDE the pig palace “helping” the pigs eat their supper!
I don’t think I’ve ever seen any deer actually INSIDE the pig run. The pigs don’t seem to mind. Interesting. Either the deer are getting smarter~ the pig food is made up of ground corn and other delectable yummies~ or they are really hungry. They look pretty fluffy and stout. So I’m (hoping) guessing that they are just smart.
They didn’t stay long. Just ate and left. In a blink and they were on their way.
On another note~ Rachael heads back to school today.
Being the only two women in our family~ I REALLY miss her when she’s away.
She’s been home for almost exactly a month for Christmas break. And it’s been so lovely.
I know leaving home, going to college, following your dreams is part of growing up but~ WAAAAA!
Guess I’ll have to drown my sorrow in loaded tater tots. waaaaaa- slurp…..
(update~1426 (2:26 pm) HA! spoke too soon. Blowing snow with winds out of the west at appox 30 mph! Snowing so hard, I can’t see the neighbor’s lights. Winter in Montana!)
