33 degrees out in the flower fields last night. The surrounding mountains all have new snow.
I was up early with my trusty (unfrozen ๐ ) hose to sprinkle the new plantlings with water to keep them from succumbing to frost. I haven’t been back out yet to check on them since the sun has been up and warm. I’m a little afraid. Either the small plants made it through the late spring frost. Or~ they didn’t. I know the hard core gardener in me wants to run out there to see what’s still alive and what I need to replant. But the wuss in me is happy to sit by the window sipping on another cup of coffee and just pretend the whole garden is fine. Just fine….
If you happen to peek under the frost cloth before I do~ don’t tell me. I want to be surprised.
GADS! It is the middle June! Winter is for Australia this time of year.
