About Me… About Us

Hi there! Welcome to MountainPrairieFarm!

This is a blog about many things but mostly about the people and things in my life that I love~ my wonderful husband, our many children and our farm. I am an old ER nurse, an old flight nurse and an old nursing educator. (I guess I’m old.) We live on 10 acres in North West Montana, about an hour from Glacier National Park, where we raise meat chickens, egg layers, pigs, our sweet Jersey cow, Maisy (and her various babies) and a huge organic garden (at least it feels huge in the summer). We farm because we love our children (I am humbled by them everyday) and we love to eat. Our goal is to be as self- sufficient as possible. And to “train up our children in the way they should go and when they are old they will not depart from it.”

Welcome to our homestead. Pull up a chair, I’ll put on the coffee and warm up the scones.

Paradise~ just north of nowhere……

Well done!!! I was thinking all of the same things you mentioned. I am commenting through my OLD wordpress blog, didn’t even know it was still live! LOL God Bless you!

  2. Hi! A friend gave me Floret Farm’s Cut Flower Garden book and I loved it! After a little searching, I found their farmer-florist collective and a note about your farm. Our family lives in the West Valley, between Kalispell and Whitefish, and we are just getting started with our garden! Would you be willing to talk with us and give some advice? We would greatly appreciate it! Thank you! – Jan
